Raphael’s frescoes, including "The School of Athens," embody the harmonious balance and perspective characteristic of Renaissance art.  The Renaissance also saw the development of linear perspective, allowing artists to create more realistic and three-dimensional spaces on a flat surface. This period’s emphasis on realism, proportion, and the study of light and shadow profoundly influenced Western art, laying the foundation for future artistic movements.
