Time comes to the middle of 2023, AIGC is still hot, although entrepreneurs are still rushing into the game. How to use AIGC technology, and in which scenarios can AIGC technology be the first to be implemented? Where exactly is the business model? This has become the most important topic for entrepreneurs around the world, and whoever takes the lead in solving this problem will be the most likely to be the real money-making "super application" in the AIGC era. In early June, AI + cloud industrial software company three-dimensional home announced the completion of the D round of hundreds of millions of dollars in financing, post-investment valuation of $ 600 million. The financing funds will be mainly used to accelerate the three-dimensional home product matrix iteration upgrade, and increase the investment in AI and other technologies on research and development. Three dimensional home is the undisputed TOP level player in the domestic home design field, from marketing, design to order, production, it creates a front and back-end integrated product matrix to let many people understand what is the "what you see is what you get" type of home design experience. The deep and complete industrial foundation, the concept and practice of AIGC in advance, all of these make this enterprise become a typical representative of the windfall of "AIGC+industry landing" in 2023. What is the concept and experience of 3D Home in the field of AI and AIGC? How do they see the next industrial opportunities and challenges? On June 28, Cao Jian, Partner and Chief Product Officer of 3D Home, participated in the Emergence-AIGC Industry Application Salon co-sponsored by Babbitt, China AIGC Industry Alliance (AIGCxChina) and Time Stamp Micro Blue. The following is from a conversation between Lei Wang and Jian Cao, as compiled by Babbitt. Ray Wang: First of all, I'd like to talk about the financing. Some people say that this round of financing has increased your valuation a lot because of AIGC, what do you think about this? Cao Jian: It's not necessarily because of AIGC, the whole home industry is a very large industry, there are about 4 trillion transactions in China, and it's rising year by year. In the past, China has been lacking such an independent software provider, we have this opportunity. Ray Wang: After getting this financing, can you introduce your investment plan in AIGC? Jian Cao: We have been investing, and in 2018, we set up Turing Lab to study intelligent design for AI. And facing such a large stock market of a product, and we are a relatively pure technology-based company, we will have a large investment in R&D. Ray Wang: Over the years, we've seen all kinds of wind gusts or new technologies. Cloud, meta-universe, so this round of AIGC or AI, do you think there is any difference with the so-called wind gusts in previous years? What do you think of the AIGC, which is a big hit this year? The AIGC is the second wave of the AIGC, which was already hot in 2017. This wave has actually brought about some substantial productivity changes. Before, it may be more gimmicky than practical, and people can't understand it. But today, everyone is going to learn AI. Wang Lei: Now there is a kind of AI anxiety, AIGC anxiety, such as media reports on how many jobs are replaced by AIGC. How do the designers of 3D Home see this new technology? Is there any anxiety? Cao Jian: In China, there may be many designers, people call them designers, but because of the constraints of the market and the business environment, they can only say that they are drawing, a drawing is several years, a few years down may not even the process of the book has not been turned, the material has not studied much. In fact, designers have to learn a lot of things, this is a job that requires a lot of experience and knowledge. Drawing is a tool for the designer to express his thoughts and ideas to consumers and buyers, and it is a small part of his work. He should spend more time to learn the process materials, humanistic culture, ergonomics, consumer psychology, etc. He should make his design not too many pits in the later construction, and consumers live comfortably. I do not think AI will replace the designer, the replacement is the drawing workers, this concept should be changed. Wang Lei: We all say AIGC this good that good, in the home design industry, you feel that some of the shortcomings of AIGC, where are the shortcomings? Cao Jian: Now, AIGC is a vision for our industry. The value of the actual production has not yet been verified on a large scale, and everyone is still figuring it out. As a technology company, we are still very optimistic about this track, and we can do something on the ground here in AIGC. At the moment, it definitely has its drawbacks. I think we still have a lot of work to do to bring AIGC to the real production chain today. Wang Lei: AIGC technology development is very fast, will there be some entrepreneurial companies, he mastered the advanced technology, will overtake the three-dimensional home such as the head of the company? It may not even be in this industry, but will come to a descending blow to the companies in the industry. What do you think about this problem? Cao Jian: I think the head of each industry companies will have this kind of trouble. We were established in 13 years, and have gone through many rounds of such tests. In 13 or 14 years, you can count hundreds of companies like us, but not many of them have persevered. Today, I think the influencing factors may be more technology and business model, as well as the understanding of the industry, innovation. So, there may indeed be some opportunities here. However, we are also making continuous progress in using these new technologies to surpass some of our predecessors, such as some giant companies overseas. Ray Wang: We may have such a sense of crisis every moment in our business. Share with us how to face the competition, challenges and opportunities brought by AIGC? Cao Jian: Liu Qiangdong has shared a view that there are small teams in large enterprises to do some business model innovation, and these innovations need to be based on some latitudes to think about, such as where the market is, who the users are, whether the product, cost, efficiency can support, and whether the competition has some innovative differences. I think new technologies may appear every year, we have also experienced VR, experienced meta-universe, but which can land? This has to I have to first quietly to see this thing, rather than full of anxiety and anxiety, or too excited. Wang Lei: We practitioners are also very concerned about one aspect is data security. Big models definitely need to use a lot of data to train, and the acquisition of data, including customer data on our side, may bring some concerns. What do you think about data security, privacy protection and copyright issues? Jian Cao: Every new technology comes out with such questions. When the cloud era came, people questioned this very thing. Many head enterprises asked for private deployment, and small enterprises used cloud leasing. In fact, now the cloud will also be relatively safe, because many things in the regulatory constraints, in gradually improve. I believe AI will also have this day. You do not have a car, then you will not consider the design of the seat belt, certainly the car is built first, and then design the seat belt. The problem of copyright may be solved by blockchain technology in the future. Encrypted authentication, traceable to the source. Of course, this is not what we are going to solve, we still have to focus on the business and application of our own industry. When something like this comes out, it's good that we access the security platform. Wang Lei: Many people are discussing how to connect between AIGC design and final production, you also mentioned that this is very critical in the industry, share some specific practices and thinking of the three-dimensional home is how? Cao Jian: AIGC it is actually a neural network rendering technology, it feeds a lot of diagrams and large model links after using the adjustment model to re-simulate, the problem is not accurate control. In the traditional manufacturing industry, whether it is the production of a pair of shoes, a piece of clothing, or one of our furniture, it is behind the process, is a strong constraint. The designer needs to go through a rigorous design process, which takes into account the material fit, processing properties, etc. Many manufacturers in the use of our three-dimensional home modeling, the model built in itself with the process properties. We use these data with process properties when doing the design. At present, AIGC is looking at the face, not the inside, but that does not mean that AIGC will not have in the future. Wang Lei: What is the future of AIGC in the field of home decoration technology five years later? Cao Jian: five years is not a bit too far? 10 or 20 years ago, it was very expensive to get a rendering to decorate a house. Now all industries are talking about you buy my stuff, I will provide you with free renderings. By connecting AI technology with our production data, I can think of a scenario where the consumer is doing his own partial renovation of the children's room, or the kitchen bureau. He can open his own cell phone APP to do the design, and then order, and finally, the factory will send the finished product to consumers. In the middle, there may only be some online remote services to help consumers reach such a result. This may make the renovation into a high-frequency consumption, consumption-based services. I think this and Apple's depth camera, depth measurement and other technologies will have a point of convergence. But whether it's three years or five years, I don't know. ## Publication Information - [lover](https://paragraph.com/@poaplover/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@poaplover/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@poaplover): Subscribe to updates
