# Still I forgive

poem

---

In the depths of my soul, where wounds find their place,

I bear the weight of a silenced disgrace.

For they, who uphold honor, have faltered and strayed,

Leaving me shattered, left to decay.

Their actions, like poison, seep into my core,

Leaving bruises upon my heart, forevermore.

Yet with each passing moment, forgiveness I hold,

Like the sweetest fruit, ripe and bold.

But why, oh why, do they refuse to speak,

To disclose the truth, the answers I seek?

In violation of rights, they choose to remain,

Hiding in shadows, perpetuating the pain.

Their once-noble values, now tarnished and stained,

Revealed through actions, that cannot be feigned.

The betrayal cuts deep, like a knife to the bone,

And still, forgiveness remains, steadfastly shown.

For in forgiveness, lies strength, an unyielding force,

That mends the broken, and steers us off course.

But let us not forget, the importance of truth,

To right the wrongs and restore our youth.

So I sit and ponder, with a heavy heart,

Why they won't say, why they tear us apart.

But amid the bruises and scars that I bear,

Forgiveness remains, the fruit I bare.
