Reader, today I bring you into the realm of crypto research. Crypto like every other thing is all about alpha, those who are early to it and take position gets the most rewards. If we compare crypto to real estate , knowing where to buy, what amount to buy and when to buy may simply be the difference between having so much profit or so much loss.

1\. Follow the money
--------------------

Initial coin offerings allowed everyday investors invest in crypto projects, this avenue is almost none existent now due to heavy scams and tough regulations. Today many projects raise funds from venture capital , so have a tab of various VC investment and know how to take positions. 2\. Follow the updates
----------------------

Crypto is a $1 trillion dollars industrial complex, it’s fast moving, the truth is that you can’t be in the know of everything . But however you can curate your feed to know what is happening.

**I suggest the following**

⁃ [**use twitter lists**](https://soaster.com/how-to-use-twitter-lists-effectively/)( curate accounts based on various topics like airdrops, Defi, VCs, ecosystem, NFTs etc)

⁃ **Telegram** ( subscribe to relevant groups on telegram to get real time update and help)

⁃ **Discord**( this app is becoming a go to favorite for all things crypto)

⁃ **Calendar** ( use tools like [_coinmarketcal_](https://coinmarketcal.com/en/) etc to keep abreast of events)

3\. Subscribe to tools

**Onchain** is becoming more and more accessible due to some tools, to know what is really happening on a chain, one needs to employ some tools. Some provide insights into blockchain data as well as top notch research on projects, topics and other insights. Some are free , others are paid for.

Have a strategy as concerning time (what amount of time, when etc)

Have a strategy as concerning investing ( define your investment thesis, set an amount that you are willing to invest, know what metrics to track, know when to enter and exit).
