# Announcing Bear Park

I started on this NFT-related project back in December 2021. I knew it would incorporate NFTs, and I also knew it would _not_ be a massive dump of animal JPEGs. The project is called **Bear Park**, featuring a bear-themed amusement park run by cartoon bears. It’s meant to be a playful world with mass appeal, and a world that can introduce compelling characters and stories. After months of hard work behind the scenes, let’s pull back the curtain on Bear Park.

A PUZZLING EXPERIENCE

I chose early on to have a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle be the core visual element for the launch of Bear Park. Here’s why:

*   I enjoy jigsaw puzzles and I’m especially partial to the ones that have incredible art;
    
*   I thought it would be cool to use a physical puzzle as a reward for NFT holders;
    
*   I look at jigsaw puzzles as real-life fractional art and I wanted to play on this concept with NFTs.
    

So I commissioned Vietnamese artist Nho Huy Le to illustrate the world and characters of Bear Park for a jigsaw puzzle. I sent Huy a simple idea and his vision and talent delivered something incredible. The art completely stands on its own. I’m excited to see how it looks in physical form.

A PIECE OF THE PUZZLE

As I said, the jigsaw puzzle is the core visual element for this launch, and that holds true for our NFT collection. The genesis collection consists of 1,000 3D-rendered puzzle pieces. Each piece matches the look of one from our actual puzzle. If you hold the NFT, you will get to claim a puzzle at no additional cost. The puzzle is one way I’ll reward my earliest supporters out the gate, but it’s not the only way. I’ll present exclusive opportunities to holders as time goes on.

THE FUTURE

My ultimate goal is to transform Bear Park into a brand known for its fun, original content, and to expand the brand beyond NFT Twitter. The funds raised from the NFT drop will help in this endeavor. I don’t have a roadmap to share with you. I prefer to underpromise and overdeliver. I assure you I won’t accomplish this goal all by myself. It was a team effort to get to this point and it will continue to be one going forward. My post-launch priority is to deliver on what I’ve promised to the holders. It’s going to be an exciting journey and I encourage you to come along for the ride.

A BUILDER’S JOURNEY

A bit about me, I’m a full-time software developer and a proud member of BAYC since June ‘21 – my Bored Ape was my first ever NFT. Bear Park is the first project I’ve founded since I’ve entered the NFT space. If (or when) Bear Park requires my full attention, I’ll resign from my current position and go all in. On the topic of anonymity, I’m not going to parade out my real-life identity, but the information is out there. Clearly, I prefer to go by QUiRK in the web3 community. In terms of other projects, I am a co-founder of Service Ape DAO with 3 other apes. We’re just getting that off the ground. I realize I don’t have much of a reputation at this point, but I’m here to build, collaborate with others and develop a track record that earns your trust. It just takes time.
