# Run Strong **Published by:** [Ram](https://paragraph.com/@ram008/) **Published on:** 2023-07-26 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@ram008/run-strong ## Content You know what comes after the first step? The NEXT step. There is essential insight into this. Don’t look too far, you have taken one step, time for the next. That’s all there is to know sometimes. Especially when the destination or goal is too far, all you need to do is know where you are going, then take one step after another. This is what you tell yourself in a marathon. This is what an Elephant herd in Africa does and this is what gets you to the destination ultimately. If you miss a step, okay, take the next one. If you miss two then you are not moving, which gets you further away from the time to reach your destination or reach it at all. Multiple things occurred today that reminded me of this simple fact.Progress that needed to be made at work but I was not taking the 2nd or 3rd step. I decided that I am not going to take a big slog but take that 2nd step and I did. Then I went on to take the third, the fourth and finished it.My running regiment that got rejuvenated with a new coach, a new training program. I had a rest day yesterday which I followed and began with a recovery run today. It was not as good as the day before, but why did it matter? It was a step. One in the right direction that moves me to my starting line 18 weeks from now.I lost an important opportunity professionally, I could have let it go into a downward spiral, which I have done many a time. Not today. I took my first steps towards the next big one, which might be bigger or not. With no expectation or attachment on what that might me, I went on to take the next stride. What this holds, I don’t care, but step I will.Take the next step. Beats not taking one all day every day time and again. ## Publication Information - [Ram](https://paragraph.com/@ram008/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@ram008/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@ram008): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/r008): Follow on Twitter
