# Look up

*You might be surprised*

A habit that I used to have was to look up. Randomly, for no particular reason at all. It serves as a reminder of God, that there is something above me. People rarely look up, but you'd be surprised at what you might find if you do.

I haven't been looking up as much lately, but as I'm writing this, I looked up to see a cluster of spider webs around a tree branch. Then, more and more. My looking up was not out of habit, I noticed drops falling down onto my iPad.

if you look very closely you might be able to see the clusters of spider webs

I'd like to get more in the habit of looking up. I've found the practice to be quite meditative. It draws you out of yourself and allows you to notice the world around you. More importantly, it grounds you in your own insignificance knowing how vast the world is beyond you.
