This month’s trends, stats, and developments within the NFT market.IntroductionIt’s been a rough month for the NFT market, and many believe we might be close to reaching the bottom. We continue to see a significant decrease in trading activity. Despite the high fear in the market, we saw exciting projects launch, and multiple events occurred in June. Here at Flagship, we love to bring you the* best of the best* when it comes to NFT insights! Here are our favorite stories, trends, and market statistics from the last 30 days.Top News This MonthOn July 16, Yuga Labs will launch the first demo of their metaverse, The Otherside. We have seen the price of virtual lands appreciating since the public announcement via Twitter.OpenSea announces its first-ever NFT collection named Zoonies, which will be launched explicitly with their launchpad. More details to come in the upcoming weeks.New crypto phones are coming out in the near future. We saw the announcement of the Solana smartphone, which pumped the price of Solana from $26 to $40 earlier last month. Additionally, HTC announced their partnership with Polygon to create the HTC Desire 22 smartphone, which will include a built-in digital crypto wallet, NFT support, and additional virtual reality applications, which could potentially become helpful for metaverse experiences.OpenSea co-founder, Alex Atallah steps down from the company but will remain on the company’s board. Additionally, OpenSea experienced a major email data breach and warned all users of phishing scams. One of their employees shared email addresses and newsletter subscriber lists with external parties. It is estimated that 1.8 million users were affected.SoRare officially signed the top football player Kylian Mbappé as a brand ambassador. On a similar note, Binance announced it’s a partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo for the release of an upcoming NFT project.Facebook, a.k.a. Meta, will begin testing NFT integration in their platform this week with selected creators, available only in the United States as an initial phase. Zuckerberg announced earlier this year that he plans to make Instagram into an NFT Marketplace.Fox Entertainment is investing $100 Million for an NFT animated series designed by the creator of the famous Rick & Morty series.Illuvium teases by releasing gameplay footage of its highly anticipated game Overworld.Nansen, one of the most popular tools used to analyze crypto markets, announced their new feature to track Solana NFT collections, providing valuable insights and key metrics to keep track of the top collections.NFT.NYC took place this month. An annual event where NFT communities and brands gather in Manhattan where many interesting events occur, such as social networking and promotional events. Ape Fest was one of the week's highlights where Eminem and Snoop Dogg premiered a new song. Here is a list of the events that happened during that week.WeChat, the popular social media Chinese platform, will ban accounts related to “virtual currency or digital collection business”.EU negotiators met last week to discuss rules and regulations related to crypto, digital assets, and NFTs. It is possible that soon, NFT creators would need to be “a* legal person rather than a decentralized entity”*. They might be required to inform the authorities and comply with specific legal measures.Market Statistics — Last 30 DaysTop Ethereum collections: Yuga Labs takes three top five positions in the chart. Otherdeed is holding up strong as we approach the upcoming release of their gameplay demo happening on July 16. In the last two weeks, we saw a strong performance by Moonbirds, with a floor price increased from 16 ETH to 30 ETH in the previous two weeks of June. DeGods remains at the top of the chart, followed by Shadowy Super Coder. Degen Ape Academy has remained steady during the whole month. The term NFT has declined in Google search volume. People are showing less interest in researching topics related to NFTs, and it seems like the hype has cool down in just a couple of months.Google Trends search activity for ‘NFT’ in the last 12 months. The downtrend is also seen in the daily trading volume chart for NFTs in the Ethereum blockchain. We continue to see a downward trend since the start of the year. As of July 1, the trading volume of NFTs in the Ethereum blockchain is very low, closing the month at $21M. That’s -65% less volume than last month’s $61M. Source: Dune Here are some projects you should keep an eye on:Doodles released 24,000 Genesis boxes, a box of genesis edition wearables for the upcoming Doodles 2 collection. Their first collection's current floor price is 13.8 ETH on OpenSea marketplace. An exciting project to watch in the upcoming months.The Otherside: the metaverse of the BAYC will be launching its first public version of their metaverse. A small number of selected users will have the opportunity to play. We are hoping to see some exciting gameplay content soon.Duppies: the number one project in Solana, DeGods, plans to release the new NFT collection Duppies on July 15.Generative art sales have soared over the past few weeks. Generative art is created on computers using code to generate visual outputs on a canvas, which can be tokenized and stored on the blockchain as NFTs. We have seen significant volume in projects like Anticyclone, which has gone from 0.75 ETH to 5.4 ETH in just a few months on OpenSea. We might see an increase in the popularity of art projects and users of digital art marketplaces such as Art Blocks.Wrapping it all up…It’s been a rough month for the NFT market, with a decrease of -65% less volume than last month.
