Poetry Reading: Poets Margaret Ortiz and Kimberly "Buckley" O'Neil are scheduled to read from their works at 7 p.m. Sept. 18 at Anderson's Bookshop, 123 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville. "The History of String" Book Release: Barnes & Noble in Naperville will hold a book launch for " The event will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the store, 1035 N. Naper Blvd. A panel discussion featuring a few of the authors and agents will follow the event. Refreshments will be served and all books will be available for purchase. Books will be available for purchase in the following Barnes & Noble locations: Aurora, Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, Elgin, Glen Ellyn, Joliet, Lombard, Naperville, North Aurora, Orland Park, Peoria and Woodridge. A portion of the book sales will be donated to The Rising Foundation, a Naperville based charitable organization committed to addressing mental illness in the community. Stewart are scheduled to sign copies of "Keeping Kids Safe: A Parent's Guide to Child Passenger Safety" from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Anderson's Bookshop, 123 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville. The event will feature family-friendly activities, including children's activities, coloring, and music. New Moon on the Prairie: The Naperville Park District will host a New Moon on the Prairie 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Abington Community Center, 3244 W. Abington Road. The event will feature a bonfire, firepits and s'mores, with an outdoor movie to follow. Attendees are asked to bring a blanket or chairs and a non-alcoholic beverage. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie begins at sunset.
