“Onboarding One Billion people Onchain to create a global economy” That's Base Ecosystem’s vision. To actualize this, Basenomads decided to build a Based community. Come with me as I narrate their story, and what they aim to achieve. The Birth of BasenomadsA group of nomads once traveled far and wide from chain to chain, in search for an excellent ecosystem. They faced issues such as high-gas fees, scalability issues and even security issues. They almost gave up until one fateful day. Nomads usually don’t have a fixed residence due to their constant movement. But these ones finally found a home, and that’s Base. They settled down and started learning and interacting with the ecosystem and experienced numerous benefits, but one in particular caught their attention “Base is a BUILDERS ECOSYSTEM” It's not just for technical folks, but also for creators and consumers. With their profound joy for their new home, they decided to create a community for other nomads to experience a vibrant ecosystem. If you’re new to Base, the creative team did this video to give you a comprehensive introduction to the ecosystem Detailed intro to Base Ecosystem Discovering the Base Ecosystem with BasenomadsBasenomads began to preach the gospel of Base and the need for people to come Onchain. They did this by onboarding more members and provided apt updates on everything Onchain. Asides the Onboarding spaces, they started hosting two types of spaces. On Wednesdays (2pm GMT +1), they talk about everything happening In the "Base series", and how the community can contribute to its growth. And on Fridays (1pm GMT +1), they host "The Meet Up series" where the community gets to interact and experience projects building on Base. Some of the contributors like Engr. Gudbee dedicated a day on his weekly onboarding series to preach about Base. Kweenwealth created a weekly round up series on Base and Chris_tha_builder started an onboarding series that features a lot of Base Culture Coins. Before talking about their achievements, there’s one thing I love about this community, and that’s their INTENTIONALITY. Alongside their passion, they settled down to understand how the ecosystem works, connected with based chads and partnered with them to build this community. Vee of the most high and Niyi of web3 always enlighten the community on the importance of abiding by the Base Brand-Kit. This is an editoral style guide that is used to express Base and the Onchain Economy. By following the style guide, you represent what Base stands for and your work would be engaged and amplified by the Base team. If you’re a creator like me, do well to check the brand-kit (and solemnly abide by it!!) Basenomads Impact to the Onchain VisionInline with Base Onboarding Vision, Basenomads are working towards onboarding 50,000 members to Base and in this short while, they have been able to onboard 1000+ persons to Base(isn’t that remarkable?) Basenomads launched a Basename campaign in which a lot of people were able to mint their Basename and they assisted a few persons with Onchain fee to own a Warpcast account Driven by this kind gesture by the contributors, the community members in turn also assisted themselves and those newly onboarded to Base to get Basenames. And the community didn’t stop there, they brought their friends from their individual communities, and even their relatives too. They became united irrespective of their different backgrounds and turned into one happy family. With this feat, they might onboard 5000+ persons before the year runs out because of their motive of bringing at least a person daily onchain. Basenomads Belief and Role in the Onchain EconomyFrom the article written by a Contributor @portal_gray I was able to understand the Onchain Economy. It simply means that everything done in our everyday lives can be done on Base, thereby onboarding offchain activities Onchain. The ecosystem is powered by community effort, connects builders and consumers together to create consumer-based products. Inline with the Onchain vision, Basenomads drive for adoption of these products, creation of new ones and currently advocating for more businesses and physical activities to be brought onchain. They have plans to implement in the coming weeks to ensure that these businesses thrive and succeed in the Onchain economy. I was able to write their story because I was one of the earliest members that were onboarded. Through their experiences, I was inspired to tell their story, and I believe you would be inspired to join this vibrant community and build on Base.
