I'm back again to share the weekly activities of Basenomads. We have been working behind the scenes and we would announce more updates soon. Until then, here's what we did last week Announcement of Winners of the Onchain Writers Contest ------------------------------------------------------ After getting a lot of entries and reviewing them, we announced the winners of the Onchain Writers Contest. The writers wrote on different projects on base and they used Paragraph and Mirror to publish their review. We picked the best 3 entries and have rewarded them with their prizes. This competition is the first of it's kind and we are looking forward to hosting more not just to reward the community, but to also give spotlight to wonderful projects building on base. [Here's the announcement post.](https://x.com/Basenomadss/status/1855173390513918347) EP.10 of The Base Series ------------------------ On the last episode of our weekly Base Series which we host every Wednesday, we had a discussion about jobs, airdrops and NFTs on base. We talked about these different opportunities, our experiences, views and our opinions on the future of these ventures on base. We also provided solutions on how to partake in these opportunities, position ourlseves, and build long-term in the Onchain Economy. It was a really interesting space. [Here's the recording of the space](https://x.com/Basenomadss/status/1854162811313692677) Basenomads at the Building Beyond Buildathon Event -------------------------------------------------- Basenomads partnered and were present at the Building Beyond Buildathon event hosted by Base Abuja in collaboration with Block Repo, Creative Alchemy and sponsored by Onboard Global. It was an intimate event where builders discussed about base and building on base, Introduction to Onboard, African problems encountered during building, building useful Dapps and building beyond the buildathon. The Global Community Lead for Basenomads (Salchi) took the session about Building Useful Dapps. He talked about the uniqueness of base and how it tends to encourage building of apps that people would use. He also gave steps on how to build these Dapps with the focus of creating them to solve a problem encountered in our daily lives and bring more people Onchain. Also, that builders should build long-term so that months and years to come, these Dapps would still be used. Other nomads that attended the event are: Adeyemi (Design Team Lead), Chris Thompson and 5 Star Reze who are Basenomads Contributors. After the event, the Nomads made friends and connected with other builders and communities present. Trust me, you would hear about some fruitful collaborations soon. Spotlighting a Basenomads Product: Craftiax ------------------------------------------- Craftiax is a decenrtralised platform built by Basenomads for creators of all kinds such as music, art, dance, modelling and so much more to showcase their craft and monetise it. The testnet phase is now live and we are calling on all creatives to try it out and give us feedbacks for improvements. [Here's the highlight post](https://x.com/Basenomadss/status/1852305306304360570) Basenomads Club --------------- Just as you have science club, robotics club, Basenomads have created the Basenomads club and are setting it up in various secondary schools and higher institutions. We currently have 15 club leads and we are looking forward to getting more schools involved. This is an initiative to preach the Onchain Gospel of base, to get vibrant youths to put their skills and talents to build on base and have a place in the Onchain Economy.
