But, while it might be free to post a story or a tweet, you pay with your data, the very uniqueness that makes you, and trust a centralized opaque system to deliver it to the world. The world needs an open platform to communicate, to share, and to publish, and the world needs builders like you to build it. LFGrow is an event for just that, using Lens Protocol as the foundation to create a social platform with digital ownership-first experiences, tools for transparent moderation, censorship-resistant ways to publish and profit, and much more. We can't wait to see what you build. This stifles innovation and leads to verification being used for just one thing—proving you are who you claim to be. What if social media verification meant more than just being a real person, and instead captured any label meaningful to a community? Broadening verification to be an extensible system of tags that can be attached to individual users, communities, and posts would open up a rich set of new experiences. What if a distributed fact-checking community could tag posts it has researched and evaluated? What if a curated collection of articles written by MacArthur genius grant winners could be easily created and automatically kept up to date. What if an idea could be traced back to its origin through a tree of posts and replies? What if a company's online profile could be tagged with its global carbon footprint?
