Walked by a tree and thought it was ugly. Looked closer at the black tar dripping off the sides, to realize it was actually a ruby-colored crystal. I think it formed off the sap of the tree.

Information about the bloodwood tree from ritebook.in:

* Southern-Africa native tree, known by various names like Kiaat, Mukwa, Muninga. (long name is Pterocarpus angolensis)

* Dark red sap closes the wound for healing of damaged branches.

* Used as dye, and in some places mixed with animal fats to make cosmetics for face and body.

* Believed to have magical properties for blood-related problems because of its similarity to blood.

* Also used to treat worms, stabbing pains, eye problems, malaria, black flu, stomach problems, and increase breast milk.

Intuition and idea:

Harvesting the red sap crystal as material to create jewelry (such as wired ring)
