# 20220309: Sturdy.finance testnet tutorial

**Sturdy is a new kind of DeFi lending protocol that enables users to earn high stablecoin yields or take out interest-free loans.**

'Lenders' deposit assets they'd like to earn yield on while 'borrowers' provide collateral and take out the assets deposited by lenders as a loan.

When borrowers provide a token as collateral, Sturdy converts it into an interest-bearing token (ibToken) using protocols like Yearn or Lido. Over time, these ibTokens accrue yield; the yield from these tokens are then distributed to lenders in the same token they deposited.

In this tutorial, we are going to try out Sturdy testnet. For now Sturdy testnet supports Fantom and Goerli, and we use Fantom as example in this tutorial.

1\. Preparation
---------------

### 1.1. Configure fanton testnet

Goto [chainlist.org](http://chainlist.org), turn on ‘Testnets’, search fantom, and add ‘Fantom Testnet’ to your Metamask wallet.

### 1.2. Get FTM as gas fee on testnet.

Goto [https://faucet.fantom.network](https://faucet.fantom.network), fill your address, and request testnet FTM. You may request 5 FTM in every 5 minutes.

2.Try Testnet
-------------

### 2.1.Faucet fund for testnet

Goto [https://app.sturdy.finance/faucet](https://app.sturdy.finance/faucet), connect your wallet:

Let’s take faucet WETH as example below.

### 2.2.Deposit

Goto [https://app.sturdy.finance/deposit](https://app.sturdy.finance/deposit), and provide WETH.

Choose amount to deposit and continue:

Follow the instructions to approve and deposit:

Now we have 7.5 WETH as collateral.

### 2.3.Withdraw

You may withdraw your deposit.

Follow steps to finish withdrawal.

### 2.4.Borrow

Now we can try to borrow some DAI/USDC/USDT.

Choose amount you want to borrow, and continue.

Follow the steps to finish, now we borrowed 4,909 USDT.

### 2.5.Repay

We can repay at any time.
