# Arbitrum | Domain Allocators: Calling Builders Around the World

In [our latest governance community call of Arbitrum](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya8960XBeTA&list=PLhTCvqIxiz5xPHRNWk-z4peHyFSIqtUJj&index=16), we had the pleasure of listening to the pitchs of several members from aspiring protocols for the [STIP](https://forum.arbitrum.foundation/t/how-to-apply-arbitrum-short-term-incentives-program/16545?u=seedlatam). Our governance calls are conducted in Spanish as our team is based in Latin America. When a non-Spanish speaker joins us, we invite them to express themselves in English and provide Spanish translations for the other members who may not understand.

In our last call, something remarkable happened: three members from different well-known protocols realized they were from Latin America, creating a warm atmosphere of mutual recognition. Perhaps this connection wouldn't have occurred if we hadn't spoken Spanish.

"I understand you haha"

This led us to ponder. Every day, we interact on platforms like Telegram, Discord, X, and governance forums. We do so under avatars and nicknames, often avoiding discussions about our backgrounds or realities for privacy and to prevent doxxing. Yet, it's our context that surrounds and influences us, even for digital nomads.

### Our Role as Domain Allocators

Last September, [we were voted by members of the Arbitrum DAO](https://snapshot.org/#/arbitrumfoundation.eth/proposal/0x84e841ad47a5ac7eae2c8ee87c05abc381f8e724598d939ae67060487268304f) to become Domain Allocators in the Education, Community, and Events category under the Questbook grants program.

This brought us great joy but also made us realize the responsibility we hold, not just in evaluating and allocating $ARB to various initiatives but also in promoting this program. **Properly spreading the word about funding opportunities opens the door to new contributors who have much to offer to the Arbitrum ecosystem.**

### Calling Builders Around the World

We thought about the closeness of Devconnect in Istanbul and the future Devconnect location somewhere in Southeast Asia. We considered recent events and hackathons like [ETH Rome](https://twitter.com/ETHRome), [Ethereum Kuala Lumpur](https://twitter.com/ETHKL1), [Ethereum Singapore](https://twitter.com/ethereum_sg) and E[TH Riyadh](https://twitter.com/0xETHRiyadh). We also remembered the significance of Devcon VI in Bogotá for our region…

**Isn't it exciting to know that we're all working to scale Ethereum worldwide? 🌍**

Even in the Arbitrum Discord, we see different flags in the welcome message, and if we explore various channels, we find active communities speaking Russian, Japanese, and Spanish.

![How many flags do you recognize?](https://storage.googleapis.com/papyrus_images/c00066cbd9bd881a0c0b006f6440c208d3bf8100540c09384da625896f9a65b2.png)

So, we decided to create flyers in different languages with the help of native speakers who generously assisted with translations (we didn't use any artificial intelligence to avoid mechanical translations). We understand that translations may not be perfect, and the text layout follows a Westernized design standard. Nonetheless, it's our initial attempt at a different mode of communication.

Japanese, Hindi, Turkish and Russian

This multilingual communication is a small experiment from our comms team but represents a warm embrace and a respectful greeting to builders from various regions, cultures, and languages who contribute to Arbitrum and web3 from different corners of the world. We know you're out there, and there are many of you. We're delighted to resonate with you and build together.

**In which language do you think when you think of building?**
