### Outlet Adaptors

It is not possible to use United States wall plug-ins in much of the world.

It is very important that you have the correct type of outlet adaptor(s) for your destination(s) so that you are able to use your electronics. There is a full list of outlets by country available for your reference here: [https://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plug-voltage-by-country/](https://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plug-voltage-by-country/)

Many countries within Europe use the European Union standard Type C outlet in addition to their country-specific outlet. The EU Type C adaptors are available for sale here: [https://www.amazon.com/European-Adapter-International-Charging-Essentials/dp/B0B3LZ5896](https://www.amazon.com/European-Adapter-International-Charging-Essentials/dp/B0B3LZ5896)

### Cell Phone Plan

We have learned that it is a major pain to go through the motions of activating a cell phone in a foreign country (making sure the cell is unlocked/compatible, purchasing a SIM card at the destination, activating the phone, etc). Keep in mind that sometimes you have to change SIM cards between countries, too!

To avoid this logistical mess, we bought a portable Wi-Fi device called Solis along with a month-long plan.

Using a portable wifi device internationally was THE BEST decision for us!

Basically the device works by scanning the area and utilizing local WiFi. It works in more than 135 countries! This allowed us to seamlessly use our OWN phones and have WiFi consistently throughout our travels.

The Solis device is fairly pricey, but it is a good investment for frequent international travelers.

\*Please note that you have to purchase the device itself and also pay for a plan to activate it.
