# Collide **Published by:** [Shadowsweat](https://paragraph.com/@shadowsweat/) **Published on:** 2022-05-17 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@shadowsweat/collide ## Content We are manipulated by everything around us, completely enveloped by media which we can’t even see. Our actions are manipulated by the false physics the media has designed, which only force us to collide with each other resulting only in more division and exploitation. “Collide” smashes into this conversation with frantic electronics and slabs of bass driving through the glitches and drop outs of this digital paradigm, raging against the skeumorphic tendencies of those in power to rely on yesterday’s solutions to deal with today’s problems. Heavily inspired by “The Medium is the Massage” by Marshall McLuhan and Quentin Fiore, “Collide” is a call to action that we need to awaken ourselves to the ways that we are manipulated by the systems around us, and to find ways to liberate ourselves from the oppressive control. Because, ultimately, “there is absolutely no inevitability as long as there is a willingness to contemplate what is happening.” This is the first song I’ve released from a multi-media album called “Shallow Realities” exploring how the internet distorts our perception of self and our relation to the world at large. As I’m promoting this song I will be exploring this new medium of NFTs and Web3 and reporting on what I find and my experience with these different tools. Because, as we’ve all heard so many times before, “the Medium Is The Message.” And we really need to be thinking about just message we’re actually trying to send. ## Publication Information - [Shadowsweat](https://paragraph.com/@shadowsweat/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@shadowsweat/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@shadowsweat): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/Shadowsweat): Follow on Twitter
