dao, crypto, governance

_Sharing is Caring_ has always been where I think in public. Writing is how I learn: it makes me slow down, test an argument, and put into words what I believe is actually happening.

Over time, that work has taken me from writing about staking products and DeFi mechanics into DAO governance—**how decentralized organizations make decisions, allocate resources, reward work, and shape the roles people build within them.** I have become especially interested in the gap between formal participation and durable influence: how someone builds a role that lasts beyond a single sponsor, program, or election cycle.

The free newsletter will remain the place where I explain crypto and governance for curious readers. I want it to stay accessible. Not everyone needs to work in a DAO to understand how these systems are changing.

What I’m building next
----------------------

I am launching **DAO Work**, a paid newsletter for people already building in DAOs: delegates, contributors, operators, service providers, advisors, and independent critics.

DAO governance has no shortage of commentary, proposal summaries, and public debate. What is harder to find is help with the decisions that carry consequences:

* Should I build my role around a delegate program?

* Is a paid service-provider role a useful foothold or a constraint on my independence?

* Which DAO, committee, or contributor path deserves my time?

* When does a foundation create a credible path to responsibility, and when does it mainly define narrow forms of participation?

**DAO Work** starts with one real decision. It maps the actors, incentives, formal rules, informal power, and practical tradeoffs behind it. It then makes a clear call: what looks worth pursuing, what looks limiting, and what evidence would change the recommendation.

**DAO Work begins on Tuesday, October 20.**

The first issue will ask a question many contributors eventually face:

Should You Build Your DAO Role Around a Delegate Program?
---------------------------------------------------------

Delegate programs can provide compensation, relationships, visibility, and a route into governance. They can also encourage people to optimize for voting activity and public rationales without creating a durable path to responsibility or independent influence.

The question is not whether delegate programs are good or bad. The question is what they actually offer, who controls their terms, what they reward, and whether a participant is building a portable body of work or becoming dependent on one sponsor.

New issues will follow every other Tuesday, each centered on one live decision facing DAO participants.

What stays free, and what is paid
---------------------------------

Sharing is Caring will remain free. I will keep publishing accessible crypto and governance writing, broader context, selected notes, and explainers here.

DAO Work is paid for readers deciding where to contribute, whom to work with, and how to build useful influence in DAOs.
