> As retrohunters, we’re all about zkSync Era, which is like a bullish zk-rollups in Layer 2 for Ethereum. The project has already raised $450 million from major funds, including a16z, and plans to issue a management token. The token is not expected to be released until the second quarter of 2024 at the earliest, which means we have plenty of time to scrutinize the project until at least the end of 2023. It should be noted that the criteria for zkSync may be adjusted after the token release from LayerZero, so it is important to keep an eye on updates. The network is already alive and you can swap 1+ ETH with minimal price impact. But it's worth keeping a close eye on this and especially in new networks where there is little liquidity yet. The cheapest way to build up volume is to swap between stables, but not between any stables, but through only shitty stables BUSD and USD+.

In almost all protocols, except SpaceFi, you can swap BUSD to USDC or USDC+ almost without losses, with a minimum allowable slippage (the amount of liquidity in protocols is different, so check pairs and price impact on amounts from 500-1k). Also, it is worth opening the dex settings and reduce the slippage to 0.2% for example. Reduce gas in the settings Metamask, from the Gas Limit remove 30-40%, in addition, many dApps do gas refund.

This is the first version of ZkSync (1.0), which will probably be one of the drop criteria. In Metamask this network does not appear on its own, but is under the Ethereum network(ERC20). You can use either the [official site](https://lite.zksync.io/) or the bridges listed there

to deposit funds into it.

I recommend racing through Orbiter between Era and Light, thus building up bridge volume there and there. On the main wallet, use the official bridge. Also, as a deposit option, you can use withdrawal directly from OKX. In the same way, you can deposit back to the exchange in the ZkSync Lite network via [Transfer](https://lite.zksync.io/transaction/transfer). At the moment zkSync - is the largest fundraising project without token in the mainnet, despite the great popularity to skip activity in this project is definitely not worth it. Compared to other L2 network is stable, commissions are not high. As a result, all of the above makes zkSync an attractive project for retrohunting, the project gets a high priority of working out and is inferior only to LayerZero (because there token will be released earlier), from zkSync we expect token release not earlier than Q2 2024, the time for working out is still enough, but it is desirable to "register" in the network as early as possible, and the volume to race already as will be possible. But you should not forget about diversification, do not make all bets only on one project. Perhaps, after the release of the drop from LayerZero, the metrics of this article will be revised, follow the updates.
