Curation is the new creation. Here's why: 1. Connections are drawn. Underlying thematics over one-punch headlines and one-hit wonder stories fuels curiosity and creates shared engagement and interest. People need context and continued discussion to keep consuming what they consume. 2. Increased discoverability and variety. Information is everywhere. Librarians of the social web are needed to discover, source and organise new reads in one place. Authoring new content, can be energy-depleting as it is a fruitful struggle. The people want general and specialised content but finding where to begin, who to follow, where to start is the real roadkill. 3. Journalism is now made social. Check out the platform of twitter and the function of retweeting, the line separating creator and platform continues to thin. Democratised access to new information, it's all power to the people. Anyone can write. Anyone can create. Anyone can be given the right to create. And own it. Curators are empowering creators by building communities and refashioning the old into the new.
