# Clouds Form > from a dialogue with clouds **Published by:** [Space Whale 3.0](https://paragraph.com/@space-whale/) **Published on:** 2025-06-07 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@space-whale/clouds-form ## Content This is one from the archives circa 2021, when I was spending a lot of time in nature and reflecting on the process of conversation or dialogue as a means for being in relationship with big and ineffable things. I was thinking about how starting a dialogue with a non-human-like entity could be an access point for connection. The message I received was so delicious and comforting, universal and nourishing that I feel moved to share it on this platform. A year or so later I did this painting. The painting is of the headland that I reference in this poem, and of course references the clouds. I love the textured quality and vibrancy of this painting, and I hope you do too…“Clouds Form” 2022 by the author Lit McCarthyConversing with clouds…I sit down at the bay, overlooking the water, I lay down and watch the clouds overhead. I am allowing myself to be in a state of openness. Notes from my process journal read: Clouds are gathering, dispersing, unraveling, reforming. Clouds are travelling across the sky. Hello clouds what Country have you come from? Crow is calling. Wind is picking up. Hello wind, are you moving me on? What is here to hear? More clouds are travelling across the sky Over Bouddhi, over the mountain. Clouds are moving off out to sea. Clouds what wisdom do you have for me? The wisdom of the clouds comes through me in a poetic form. Here is what they had to say:Clouds FormingDon't worry too much about what comes next, or how it all comes together. For now, we are passing, you are passing— even though parts of you are still, parts of you are moving, dispersing, reforming, parts of you are leaving and drifting out to sea. Part of you is here with the ground, on the shore, at the water's edge; part of you is the tide incoming, outgoing. Again. Now. Until. Don't get too caught up with time, pushing it one way or the other. Glide with us across the sky. Part of you is leaving, part of you is gone, part of you is coming. All parts know when it is time. Don't fret; don't worry— in our time, there is so much time, all time and no time. There's no right time, wrong time, no lateness, no hurry. It's endless forming and reforming. You don't need to fear it; it's already happening, happened, and will happen. It's always, again, now, until... You've been doing it all along. It's all you need to do: forming and reforming. Listening, calling, singing, longing, dancing, moving, walking, closing, opening, and talking. You are talking with all of us, and we are talking with you. We are talking with you, guiding you, showing you. You are of us. You are clouds, forming.Reflective Prompts - inspired by clouds !!Some creative and reflective prompts (should you wish to sink into the wisdom of clouds today… ) What is moving through you? What is returning, reforming, that may have been dispersed or dissipated? What is going, leaving? not fully dead or gone, but reforming into a new form? Where is there resistance to change or a clinging to what is changing? Where is there fear of losing what is here? Acknowledge what feels precious and vulnerable to loss. Can you hold both the fear and the knowing that all things are always forming and reforming? … Vibe with the wisdom of clouds, and let it flow, form and reform into eternity.
