# why web3? part 3 - creativity

_it’s my first NFT drop in a matter of days. and to keep myself busy during the build-up, i’ve been answering the question ‘why web3?’._

where’s the creativity in being told to **post everyday**, even multiple times a day, in order to secure your success? where’s the creativity in valuing your self worth on the fact you’ve **never been playlisted on spotify**? where’s the creativity in feeling like another fish in the sea of the other **100,000 songs** being added everyday to DSPs every day?

this is where i see web3 changing things. web3 isn’t about being a **content powerhouse**. web3 isn’t about **shouting out into the void** hoping someone will like your post. web3 isn’t about appeasing the **algorithms**.

instead, it’s about groups of **like-minded people** that want to **support** each other and buckle themselves in for the ride. they want to hear your 8-bar loop you started whilst you were hungover. they want to talk to you about your writing processes. they want to see you **succeed** and be a part of your **success**.

i’ve already felt my creativity sprout brand new roots and my creative mind finally feel supported thanks to my very fledgling introduction into web3. and most of all, i feel part of a **community**; something i’ve not had before.
