What’s good homies! Are you an artist or musician looking to cut out the middleman and deploy your own [smart contracts](https://mirror.xyz/stonewax.eth/R5JiRwXia-9C8d2GeTodjqEGue8Mxso5KedV2HnX98k) on the blockchain? If so, you're in luck! Ethereum, one of the most popular blockchains, offers two types of contracts: ERC-20 and ERC-1155. But what's the difference, and which one is right for you?

ERC-20 contracts are typically used for fungible tokens, such as currency (eg. Bitcoin) or shares in a company. They are the most common type of smart contract and are often used for ICOs (initial coin offerings) and other fundraising campaigns. ERC-1155 contracts, on the other hand, are used for non-fungible tokens ([NFTs](https://mirror.xyz/stonewax.eth/twp3UQlBOYrZFpQBsZXioYK2_SMwYLD84zKId9Tkrj8)), which are unique and can represent anything from art to virtual real estate.

As an artist or musician, you may be interested in using ERC-1155 contracts to release your work as NFTs. By doing so, you can retain ownership and control of your creations, and potentially earn a significant amount of money if they become popular.

But what if you're looking for a blockchain with cheaper fees and easier deployment options? Enter Solana and Polygon. These blockchains offer a range of benefits, including faster transaction speeds and lower gas fees than Ethereum.

Solana, for example, is gaining popularity among artists and musicians due to its low fees and "lazy minting" option. With lazy minting, you can mint your NFTs at a later time, which means you don't have to pay the minting fee until you're ready to release your artwork. This is a significant advantage, as it allows you to avoid high upfront costs and only pay for what you need.

Polygon, previously known as Matic Network, is another blockchain that offers cheaper fees and faster transactions. It's also compatible with Ethereum, which means you can easily move your contracts and tokens between the two blockchains.

And let's not forget Tezos, which is another blockchain that offers self-deployable smart contract options. Tezos is unique in that it allows you to upgrade your smart contracts without any disruption to the network. This means you can easily make changes and improvements to your NFTs without having to start from scratch.

So, whether you choose Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Tezos, or another blockchain, there are a variety of self-deployable smart contract options available to help you release your art and music without the need for the middleman. Take the time to research and explore your options, and you may just find a new and exciting way to showcase your talents and take control of your creative work!
