---

In this report you will find an overview of the Web3 market, focusing on user activity and behavior.

It is structured into three key sections: **Web3 Market Size**, **Benchmarking the Leaders**, and **Key Personas and Behavior Patterns,** each offering a unique perspective and accurate analysis of the web3 landscape.

For this report, we’ve indexed 300M+ wallets on the Ethereum and Polygon networks and obtained DAO voters’ data from the Snapshot API. Learn more about how we calculated metrics for the report in the _Methodology_ section below the report.

**Key findings and insights**
-----------------------------

* **Despite the crypto winter, the Web3 market remains active** with 9.51M wallets that have conducted at least one outgoing transaction, and among them, 5.65M have spent money in the last 30 days.

* **The approximate market size of casual Web3 is 10M**, supported by the number of ‘casual’ Web3 users who have been active in the last 30 days, hold 1+ tokens and NFTs, and maintain a balance of $100+.

* **The central part of the Web3 market is 1M**, backed by the number of users who have been financially active in the last 30 days, hold diverse token and NFT collections (10+ unique assets), and carry a balance of $1k+. This user cluster contains Web3 Natives, Whales, and Hyperactive users, represented in the _Key Personas and Behavior Patterns_ section.

* **Token adoption outpaces NFT adoption**, with 8.91M wallets maintaining a balance of $100+ and only 5.91M holding more than 5 NFTs.

**Key observations**

* **Stablecoins:** USDT, USDC, and DAI hold the top spots indicating their preferred use due to their stability.

* **Utility tokens:** BNB, LINK, MATIC, and UNI, among others, represent the wide utility group on the list. The potential reasons for high adoption are their pivotal roles in blockchain ecosystems, enabling decentralized exchanges, oracle services, and transaction fees.

* **Meme tokens:** With SHIB and PEPE in the mix, it’s clear that online trends and communities can generate real-world value in the crypto market.

* **Low holder count but high market cap:** Tokens like LEO and OKB, despite having fewer holders, have high market caps, indicating a concentration of wealth and potentially less decentralization.

**Key Observations**

* **DeFi is prevalent:** Many of the top collections, in terms of userbase size, wealth, and activity, are associated with DeFi, which reflects its popularity and usage.

* **“Healthy” collections:** CryptoTab JackBot and ENS are consistent across all categories with large userbases, a high number of wealthy users, and a high level of activity, indicating a healthy and engaged communities or/and utility and value in the eyes of their users.

* **Fast-growing NFTs:** Orbiter Trainee Pilot NFT and Mainnet Alpha have added over 100k users each in the last 30 days since they started in May 2023. But, not many of these users are holding $100+ balances, showing these NFTs may still be growing or aiming at a less wealthy crowd.

* **Size ≠ wealth or activity:** While the Anicube Origin collections have the largest user base, they don’t appear in the top collections for wealth or activity, suggesting that many users might be passive or holding smaller balances.

* **Caution with ‘scam’ labeled collections:** The collection labeled as a ‘scam’ has a high number of holders and transactions, but a relatively smaller proportion of users with a balance over $100. This could indicate a large number of users with smaller balances, possibly victims of the scam.

* **Some collections have a large user base but low activity:** For example, the Lemon Nation has 581k holders but only 3 have a $100+ balance, and only 1 made transactions in the last 30 days. This could indicate a ‘dead’ collection, inactive user base, or a lack of engagement.

### **Prominent service contracts**

🥇[Uniswap](https://uniswap.org/) 5.9M unique wallets and 110k wallets interacted with its’ smart contract in the last 30d

🥈[1inch](https://1inch.io/) 1.7M unique wallets, 196.2k wallets interacted with its’ smart contract in the last 30d

🥉[OpenSea](https://opensea.io/) 1.4M unique wallets, 175.6k wallets interacted with its’ smart contract in the last 30d

* [Blur](https://blur.io/) 250.5k unique wallets, 39.8k wallets interacted with its’ smart contract in the last 30d

**Key Observations**

* **The ratio of interactive wallets to unique wallets varies between platforms:** Although Uniswap has the highest number of unique wallets, it sees a lower rate of smart contract interactions compared to OpenSea, 1-inch, and especially Blur.

* **NFT market engagement:** Both Blur and OpenSea demonstrate robust user engagement, indicating a healthy interest in NFT trading.

* **DEX engagement:** 1inch shows a higher engagement rate compared to Uniswap, suggesting different user preferences between these DEXs.

### **DAO governance**

10. [Aavegotchi](https://snapshot.org/#/aavegotchi.eth), 12.6k total unique voters, 5.5k unique voters in the last 6 months, `NFT gaming protocol`

**Key Observations**

* **The most active DAOs in Web3 are associated with DeFi and blockchain solutions:** The list features leading DAOs such as liquidity protocols, decentralized exchanges, and layer-2 solutions. Their leadership underscores the strong presence of a community, business dependence on community-driven decision-making, and a democratic governance system.

* **Governance leader:** Stargate DAO tops with the most unique voters (442k total, 427.9k in the last six months), indicating an engaged community or a highly active voter cluster.

* **Rising DAOs:** Arbitrum DAO and Yoginth despite fewer voters, saw all of them vote recently, signaling its fresh and rapid growth possibly due to effective voter engagement or recent advancements.

* **Fading DAOs:** DAOs like ENS and PancakeSwap display reduced recent participation despite a large voter base. This suggests recent shifts in business strategies, with less reliance on voting and/or fading interest in governance issues within the community.
