# Does this NFT smell fishy? 🐠 **Published by:** [sven](https://paragraph.com/@sven-4/) **Published on:** 2022-02-03 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@sven-4/does-this-nft-smell-fishy ## Content Would you pick: There’s bigger things to worry about… So your brain takes a shortcut By simply following the herd: āž”ļø option 2 it is! And what about people who picked the 1st? They already died out… …while hunting this little fellow: What? Yes… your ancestors found the stream where this mammoth takes a weekly bath: "Should we go look for him upstream or downstream?" Brave Bert decides to go upstream while the rest of the group heads downstream Guess what? Brave Bert was right!! The mammoth was hanging out upstream… But all on his own… Bert was no match for the mammoth… šŸ‘€ And unfortunately he didn’t survive… Neither did anyone else who dared leaving the group During those early days, surviving on your own was impossible… The only folks making it through, were those who stuck together All other DNA became extinct 🧬 That’s what you and me ended up with... Today… 300000 years later... We’re still operating on that same mammoth-chasing brain: Forget to clean up a tray at McDonald’s and 20 minutes later the place is a dump See a big queue of people excited for a smartphone, and we all want one Add some fake laughter to a Netflix show and ratings skyrocket Or point at a blue button… and people click it! Now let’s get to the tricky part: Our favorite JPEGs… Why tricky? Because our ego loves playing games By making us think we ARE our JPEG And if this sounds ridiculous… …it’s probably happening right now Someone points at your JPEG… Ouch! It’s like they’re aiming straight at your soul That said… What happens when you see this: The doge is looking AWAY from the message Actively signalling: ā€œThis aint goodā€ So I’m turning my back on it And so should you! Now imagine if it looked like this: Here the doge is telling you: Yes… I trust this message… And so should you! Now before the doge starts barking… …let’s give her a cookie: Notice what happened here? The logo in the top left corner is hardly visible… (not a coincidence) …and instead 4 doges are pulling you onto the page To see why this matters, let’s compare it to: Here the samurai in the top left corner is looking AWAY from the content Even when you focus on the middle of the page Your brain is battling a gentle pull to the left And what else is pointing to the left? Your browser’s back button ā¬…ļø This logo is effectively saying: ā€œI don’t like this site… let’s go backā€ Now you might have an affiliation with some examples… …so let’s look at a bunch all together: No matter what anyone says… …unconsciously you’ll more easily trust the messages on the left But enough pointing at others… Time to look in the mirror: While I’m staring straight at you… …my duck and blade are pointing in the direction of your browser’s back button That aint good… So I had to flip it: And if this article caused you a massive headache… …then you could do the same -Sven p.s. when sharing this with people who claim they can’t be easily manipulated, you could have them watch the classic elevator experiment: Featured examples: @TheDogePoundNFT, @TinyColonyGame, @CyberKongz, @punk6529, @ZssBecker, @doodles, @beaniemaxi, @farokh, @coolcatsnft, @Arthur_0x, @boredpunksoc, @ColeThereum, @DCLBlogger link to original tweet: https://twitter.com/svenowornow/status/1489221998140170244 ## Publication Information - [sven](https://paragraph.com/@sven-4/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@sven-4/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@sven-4): Subscribe to updates
