# Deflationary pressure on software

AI is about to radically lower the cost of software, creating major deflationary pressure. Just as we don’t endlessly consume mass-produced goods, we won’t endlessly use generic digital products either. This was true with physical goods, we got abundant commodities and more artisanal / unique versions of those commodities.

This will result in lowered costs for expensive software, I'm looking at you Healthcare (someone still has to crack distribution). And it will increase software that previously didn't make sense, like tailored CRMs for certain industries, Snapchat that's Sharia-compliant (future is wild, who knows 😅), apps for your favorite niche creatorm, and it on and on.

It's hard to predict how wild it gets because software is as malleable as any idea. The constraints are by far much less than the physical world. Is this good, bad, neutral? Unclear, but shit's going to get wild.
