### **Summary**

There are times when it is best to keep a low profile. This can be so for a number of reasons, but is particularly important when unwanted attention can lead to misfortune or danger. The I Ching calls this hexagram the _Darkening of the Light_, and it cautions the wise person to hide their own inner light for the time being.

Try to blend in to the crowd this week, and keep your energies in reserve to deal with any surprises that may come.

### **Closing remarks**

The third and fourth lines are in change, giving us hexagram 51 as an echo. This hints at the possibility of surprise or shock coming to meet us at the end of the week, and is another reason to keep one’s energy in reserve.
