In Chimpanzee Politics, Frans de Waal speculates on the nature of humanity by observing ape societies in captivity. I’m humbled to learn that certain cognitive capabilities humans possess are also documented in other primates like ourselves. One of my takeaways is that power tends to concentrate. For example, the alpha stands in the center of a concentric circle of hierarchies, with a mesh network of chimps dynamically shifting the center of power. When we include other parameters such as age and sex, the community that resembles ours becomes uncanny. As humans are the current evolutionary result of this chaotic progress of time, I speculate that cryptocurrencies are the next value-creating way forward to prosperity. ## Publication Information - [The Book Report](https://paragraph.com/@thereporter/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@thereporter/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@thereporter): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/warlock100watt): Follow on Twitter ## Optional - [Collect as NFT](https://paragraph.com/@thereporter/chimpanzee-politics-power-and-sex-among-apes): Support the author by collecting this post - [View Collectors](https://paragraph.com/@thereporter/chimpanzee-politics-power-and-sex-among-apes/collectors): See who has collected this post
