Good UX makes navigating the new internet easy. We're here to keep you up-to-date with the best of the best so you always swipe left to bad UX! Here’s what’s caught our attention over the last couple of weeks:

### **Are Capabilities the Superpower Account Abstraction Needs?**

Account Abstraction (AA) emerged to make life easier for the end-user, but for developers, it’s been a headache. Building with AA requires embedded wallets and vendor-specific APIs, resulting in a fragmented experience. The root cause? A lack of standardized APIs for DApps to communicate with AA wallets, forcing developers to lock into specific vendors.

However, this is about to change with the introduction of “capabilities”, through ERC-5792 — driven by us, [Base](https://www.base.org/), and others. This new paradigm allows DApps to discover and use smart wallet features like gas sponsorship, transaction batching, and session keys through standardized APIs, making the developer experience more streamlined and interoperable. Our partners at [ZeroDev](https://docs.zerodev.app/) have already fully embraced this change, updating their systems to support the capabilities API, ensuring seamless interaction with any smart wallet. This shift promises to significantly improve the UX for developers and users, paving the way for broader adoption of smart wallets and AA features.

### Smart Sessions: Permissions Make Everything Better

_And why we can’t have nice things (yet)_

Why have subscriptions (i.e., recurring payments) not taken off in web3?

Today’s internet interactions are bogged down by constant transaction signing, making seamless experiences for subscriptions, passive investments, gaming, and more nearly impossible.

Enter **EIP-7715** — or “Smart Sessions,” a term we coined (humble flex). These make interactions fluid and painless, fixing the synchronous signing issue.

The new internet is held back by the need to sign every transaction. This makes seamless experiences like subscriptions, investments, and gaming nearly impossible.

### What’s Next for App Chains

Ownership in our industry takes many forms—self-custody for users, full rights for artists, and network effects for apps by becoming their own chain.

A year ago, appchains seemed like a distant dream. Now, we're thinking about what's next: Resource Chains. Imagine a world where apps seamlessly interact, sharing resources — keys, sessions, tokens — effortlessly and securely. The era of Resource Chains is on the horizon.

Stay tuned as we lead this evolution that will empower developers, enhance UX, and drive innovation.
