Adjusting to Luna’s gravity has been more difficult than anticipated…even with the textured moon shoes. All Reclaimers were provided with moon shoes for several different gravity environments with one pair each for Luna, Mars, and Ceres. These are expected to be the most common early destinations of the program. I’d say overall the Directorate is accurate in that assumption from the chatter I’ve heard among friends- I guess we will find out in two days on Destination Day. I have some mixed feelings about D-Day, but I cannot raise a protest as my concerns are of a confidential nature. My linking is a gift and a curse. I can _feel_ the energy around me in all forms – this includes communication activity. If I concentrate, it is almost like a physical world that my mind can enter and behind one of the metaphysical doors I discovered that my destinations will be limited. The Directorate placed my name at the bottom of the selection list to avoid public scrutiny of my status as a Reclaimer following my automatic ascension into the program. I guess my survival above Johnston Atoll in a faulty OBS was not enough for some managers of the program. In their defense, not all of them know about my “special” upgrade to ensure my mind’s survival. By the time I view the destinations list, my options will be restricted. I expect Mars, Phobos, the Belt, and maybe some territories of the Consortium to still be available. I will journey there and make haste to the lawless and forgotten areas of the Saturn system, the Machines of Micelli, and a dozen supposedly abandoned terminals. There’s nearly two centuries of secrets waiting beyond Mars. It’d be nice to unlock a few.

The Machines of Micelli, a cluster of autonomous colonies inhabited by self-replicating systems, has fascinated me since I was a young boy. I’ve always found it hard to believe that it has been more than eighty years since there’s been imagery of any of the synthetics from Micelli. It seems impossible. Microsats are proliferated across Sol; within an instant (and a small fee), I can pull imagery of every planet out to Neptune and most of their moons. None of the images will be more than a month old. Everything is seen except the machines apparently. No human has been granted access since before the Extermination Age – I intend to break that trend. It’s something I’ve wondered about since my dad told me about them fifteen years ago. Naturally, I never thought that I’d be linked with restricted tech from CWR. I don’t think getting in will be too hard. In fact, I anticipate that the machines may even welcome me as a friend (like I said…the linking is also a gift). Finding them will be much more difficult as the cluster remains elusive to the most advanced deep-space detection systems. Some theories think they have left Sol, though I’ve been detecting strange signals emanating from Nereid. Maybe it’s them. Anyways, I am grabbing dinner tonight at the hotel with Piotr and Drex. I haven’t spent much time with Piotr, but my interactions with him have always been funny. He always jokes that “the rumors about his death have been greatly exaggerated” since broadcasting mistakenly identified him as one of the dead at Johnston Atoll. Will write more later.
