Leaving myself open to this unbelievable gnawing of my depths

Put me out of my misery

Five long years of chance encounters and soured hope

Exchanging only a word

A glance

The ease of rekindling a betrayal to myself

The dark gem I’ve hidden tight in my chest

A corpse only kept alive by my own depravity and obsession

Being haunted by every stolen second

Rebuilding this crumbling sepulcher brick by brick

Toiling alone

You wanted to come inside

Now you’ve forgotten

My cries alone echoing in this tomb where I’ve sealed myself

Unconsciously enslaving me in your spell

A careless sorcery you no longer master

Binding me to your voice

Removing the air when you leave

Happy to suffocate

Knowing you’ll never return
