# Year of the ZAO - DAY 150 > Responsibility Without the Self-Blame Spiral **Published by:** [The ZAO Newsletter](https://paragraph.com/@thezao/) **Published on:** 2025-05-30 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@thezao/year-of-the-zao-day-150 ## Content Today’s reminder comes from The Four Agreements: “Be impeccable with your word.” That doesn’t just mean keeping promises to others — it also means cutting the self-talk that drips with blame and judgment. Being impeccable includes how you speak to yourself when you mess up. We confuse accountability with self-punishment way too often. Taking responsibility isn’t about replaying the moment a hundred times. It’s not about naming every little thing you did wrong so you can feel bad enough to never do it again. That’s shame talking. The real flex is learning without dragging yourself. There’s power in owning your actions and moving forward without the baggage. Forgiveness isn't letting yourself off the hook — it’s clearing the path so you can keep walking. No need to carry it all. – BetterCallZaal on behalf of the ZAO Team ## Publication Information - [The ZAO Newsletter](https://paragraph.com/@thezao/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@thezao/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@thezao): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/https://twitter.com/bettercallzaal): Follow on Twitter - [Farcaster](https://farcaster.xyz/zaal): Follow on Farcaster ## Optional - [Collect as NFT](https://paragraph.com/@thezao/year-of-the-zao-day-150): Support the author by collecting this post - [View Collectors](https://paragraph.com/@thezao/year-of-the-zao-day-150/collectors): See who has collected this post
