I really like her, like a lot, but I don’t want to get too involved because I feel like I could be hurt again. She’s been such an influence on my life and I’ve always had a crush on this girl since I first saw her. I’ve always believed that she was one of the prettiest girls I’ve laid my eyes on. She’s been on my mind so often now, but to understand where I’m coming from, you need to hear the story behind all of this.

I’ve known her since freshman year of high school but never talked much until 11th grade. She had control over me as if she were a ventriloquist and I, her puppet. I changed everything about myself to have her notice me; my hair, my attitude, even my taste in music. **_She had me in the palm of her hand._** I confessed to her during my last year of high school that I liked her a lot. I decided since we were both splitting our separate ways because she was going to college and I decided to enlist, I had to “wow” her with an awesome gift (and small ones along with it).

What followed was not what I expected: she completely ignored me, told me it was too much, and choose to date some dude that very summer. We had a major fight at the beginning of July and didn’t talk for over a year and a half.

Fast forward to the present day, she apologized and I’ve forgiven her. The last couple of days we’ve been flirty and can’t get enough of each other. I’m just not sure if dating her is the best thing to do. I’m confused if these feelings are coming from loneliness or because I revert back to that boy that was so hopelessly crazy about her once upon a time in high school. I guess I’ll just let the dice roll and see what happens.
