Founded by the great sage Mordecai immediately after the First Schism, in the final years of his life. The Order of Enlightenment commands no territory, builds no castles or keeps any armies, and has been held together through the centuries by one idea: that the magical items of the world are a corrupting force against mankind and must be destroyed. Wandering preachers spread this radical thought against all suppression by the other Orders and, despite the humility of the disciples of Enlightenment, more magical items have been cast into the sea by their hands than have ever been hoarded in the Reliquary of Power, the Vaults of Protection or the Secret Archives of Vitriol.
