# Alongside - a cryptocurrency index

The [Alongside](https://alongside.xyz/) project is an index of [25 assets](https://amkt.batterylabs.io/data/home). The index allows users to avoid buying individual tokens and not have to worry about choosing them.

With their product, the team wants to simplify access to crypto investments for everyone (except users from the US, as stated on the homepage).

The platform positions itself as a tool for institutions and experienced traders who want to diversify their risks (hello to [Rysk Finance](https://www.rysk.finance/)), but also doesn't forget about individual investors, for whom they try to simplify entry into the world of crypto investments.

**Team**

The project's CEO is [Austin Diamond](https://www.linkedin.com/in/austindiamond/). He doesn't have the most experience in the blockchain space, but prior to Alongside, he worked for several years as VP of operations at The Longevity Fund.

The other team members are also young but very ambitious people who have good experience in the blockchain industry, as well as successful cases of receiving investments and developing projects (for example, [Jun Ho Hong](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jun-ho-hong/), head of engineering, who worked as an engineer at DoNotPay, which also received investments from a16z in 2018).

**Investors**

On February 15, news came out about [Alongside's fundraising](https://twitter.com/alongsidefi/status/1625873460776914950?s=46&t=3AWJfWkQ7uu9QYLnCkqZGA). They raised $11 million from a16z, Coinbase Ventures, Village Global, Franklin Templeton, FJ Labs, Soma Capital, Not Boring Capital, Vol. 1 Capital, and Broadhaven.

**Activities**

[Discord](https://discord.com/invite/Gh8k9WHJzZ#) conversations about the upcoming airdrop for early users are very active in Alongside. They promise to deliver it this week.

At the moment, we can get several roles for which we plan to get a drop. We go to [Guild](https://guild.xyz/alongside) and complete tasks. The Guild member role is given to us automatically, Twitter Squad - for a couple of simple actions, but to get the Early adopter role, we will have to spend $8-9.

To get the Early adopter role, which is expected to come with some reward from the project, we need to buy 0.1 AMKT in Ethereum or on Polygon - the choice is obvious. We buy it on Uniswap.

The project doesn't have many followers on Discord, and there are also few users on Guild. For example, only 4482 people took the Early Adopter role, and 257 people have the Whole Coiner role (you need to own 1 AMKT).
