# The watch

In the realm of duty, where loyalty lies,

I stand firm, guarding with resolute eyes,

For I am a sentinel, steadfast and strong,

Until the time comes when I'm relieved of my song.

My post, a fortress, built on dedication's stone,

Where responsibility breeds, and honor is known,

With unwavering vigilance, I keep watch and defend,

Every inch entrusted, until my journey's end.

Through tempests and trials, I stand tall and true,

As time passes by, my commitment never skewed,

For I understand the weight of my sacred task,

To protect what's cherished, to fulfill my mask.

But when the hour arrives, when relief draws near,

When another takes up the mantle I hold dear,

I'll lay down my sword with a heart both grateful and tight,

Knowing I've served with all my strength and might.

For every moment spent, tending the flame,

Has given me purpose, has shaped my name,

And though I depart, my legacy remains,

Etched in the memories of all who have gained.

So, I will guard everything within my keep,

Until the moment comes for my soul to sleep,

And when that time arrives, with burden relieved,

I'll rest knowing I've served, fulfilled and believed.
