What Are We Doing Here?
-----------------------

Excited to say that as of today I am 10% of the way through my 100 day experiment focused on blockchain development. If you haven’t muted notifications from me on Twitter yet, I will add you to the allow-list for my first NFT project.

For those who have no idea what I’m talking about, read the thread I’m linking below. TL;DR is I discovered that crypto is actually real and then quit my job/moved to Chile to focus on reinventing myself as a web3 dev.

Status Update
-------------

There’s no less annoying way of phrasing this so I’ll just say it: everything is going great!

I have picked up the basics of HTML + CSS relatively quickly (check out the first three projects I made [here](https://codepen.io/tranqui/full/XWzKyOr), [here](https://thinkandchill11.w3spaces.com/220206_Survey_Form_v2.html), and [here](https://thinkandchill11.w3spaces.com/220207_flexbox_calculator.html)), and have gotten to the point where I’m able to create sites that actually host real content. Check out this [mindfulness/meditation guide](https://0xtranqui.github.io/mindfulness_guide/) I created for [Developer DAO](https://twitter.com/developer_dao). Just a week ago I would have no idea how to do this.

The growth of my web3 network and twitter account is going much better than expected ([my first tweet went semi viral](https://twitter.com/0xTranqui/status/1488289962604773386?s=20&t=ZfIv1GM8c17W_zyBRggr4g)), my Spanish is picking up right where I left it in Madrid back in 2019, and I have complete control of my time to do whatever I want. Living with this much freedom has unlocked a level of creativity/inspiration/motivation I have not felt for a long time.

Also, [I made a friend here](https://twitter.com/0xTranqui/status/1490323644509212674?s=20&t=fHkeG2cuocJgreUSodRMxA). You can find him [@angelgomeztw](https://twitter.com/angelgomeztw) on Twitter and I highly recommend you giving him a follow. Super chill Venezuelan guy living in Santiago working freelance web3 projects who I met through D\_D. He’s pretty much doing exactly what I hope to be doing in a few months. Being connected to a global network of web3 developers has its perks.

Yes, I will continue to shill Developer DAO until I die.

What’s Next?
------------

So far I have progressed through basic HTML and CSS, started using VS Code and GitHub, and have gotten semi proficient with CSS Flexbox. Check out the detailed notes I’ve been keeping [here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CvVPKygjscsmQU_EqfypoKfDE4Lih4UoyBnmVXdBT5Y/edit) if you want a closer look into my work. Here’s where the rest of my roadmap stands as of today:

*   **HTML (complete)**

*   **Basic CSS (complete)**

* **Transfer workflows onto VS Code (complete)**

*   **CSS Flexbox (complete)**

* **Get set-up on GitHub (complete)**

*   CSS Grid

*   JavaScript

*   React.js

*   Node.js / Next.js

*   Solidity

* Infrastructure needed to deploy dApps

* The rest of my life

While it depends on how fast I can progress through things, my next 10 days will be focused on getting up to speed with JavaScript.

Random Thoughts
---------------

I realized right as I was getting started that not only is this an experiment in learning how to become a web3 developer, it’s also an experiment in content creation and building a twitter “brand.” I cringe whenever I say that last part, but if you’re tapped into CT (CT = Crypto Twitter, somehow I just found that out two weeks ago), you know that a lot of the major devs have large twitter accounts where they can showcase their work / [shitpost](https://twitter.com/RTFKTstudios/status/1491776604707729411?s=20&t=ZfIv1GM8c17W_zyBRggr4g) / network with the broader web3 ecosystem. My shitposting still has a long way to go.

Leaving a shout out here to everyone who has helped me so far. It feels amazing to be where I am right now, and none of this would be possible without the people guiding me along the way. I can’t name everyone, but here’s a short list:

*   [@MeatHacker](https://MeatHacker) (giving me 1v1 guidance)

*   [@pbillingsby\_eth](https://twitter.com/pbillingsby_eth) (same^)

*   [@emmbodiment](https://twitter.com/emmbodiment) (first D\_D convo I ever had)

*   [@grow\_love](https://twitter.com/grow_love) (development guild leader)

* [@dabit3](https://twitter.com/dabit3) (came up with the idea for D\_D)

Until next time…
