Travel History
--------------

Do you know the origin of Travel ?

Middle English (Northern and Scots), originally the same word as travil (by semantic change from “to toil, labor,” then “to make a laborious journey,” then “to journey,” a change that did not occur in French and other Romance languages). The spelling travel is due to a shift in accent in the 14th century; verb senses were first recorded in 1250–1300; noun senses were first recorded in 1400–50.
