# Twitter Is A Gold Mine

I’ve had several Twitter accounts over the years, each of which was created with a special purpose in mind. Most were created during a “_Look, a squirrel!”_ phase (niche research resulting in extreme desire to buy a domain, hosting, install WordPress, crank out a few posts, create Twitter handle and Gmail account, then get bored and quit by lunch).

You’ve been there.
------------------

But one has been a constant and that is my personal handle.

Although I did reboot my account back in November 2021 to test out a theory proposed in an article I read by a respected (at least by me) writer.

His position is that if you aren’t getting the engagement you want, then you should kill the account and start over.

_Niche down and deliver a focused message._

So I bit. I renamed my current account and created a new account with the same username as the old one.

Then started Tweetin’ like mad focusing on what I know: computer programming and the tech industry.

I’m slowly growing, but engagement is much better than it ever was.

Thanks Tim.
