That is the question I was facing when scouting poems for this issue. About a year ago, when I started this endeavour, it seemed a rather simple question to answer. With most blockchains supporting the NFT, onchain poetry was a poem minted on the blockchain. Sure, that is something that can be dissected, but well, simple often is good enough. Now, however, I became faced with a challenge. One of the poems I found was, strictly speaking, not onchain. A poem posted as a post on Paragraph, without even the option to collect it. Collecting a post on Paragraph, will get you an NFT to show you collected that post. So, this post was not onchain on the face of it. Now, you can send your newsletter to wallets on Paragraph, which would make it onchain. Even more, the poem experimented with a new phenomenon: frames on Farcaster. How? Well, when you post the link to a Paragraph post on Farcaster, it magically turns into an interactive 'widget'. The poem in question could be read inside this frame, line by line by clicking next. A new experience.
