# Today

There will be births today. And deaths. Some will (make) love, some will lose all. And for some today's just another day.Fifteen years ago, I was supposed to run a 10K. A 10K on 10-10-10. For charity. We were supporting an organisation that helped girls in India get an education. But, not long before that, I tore my ACL. It was repaired, and I was recovering. I just had not recovered enough to run a 10K. So, I used my bike and biked the 10 kilometers. In Riga, the capital of Latvia, where I then lived. And I recorded my ride on video. Not really something that many people did back then. On that day, however, people all over the world filmed a bit of their day to participate in the One Day On Earth project. Despite all the noise of content created on social media, this still is a beautiful idea. Not just random dopamine fixes in your feed, but a tapestry of human stories. Stories people live on that single day on that singular planet. And that inspired the poem above.
