We're not just in it to win it. We take part to be better versions of the person we are now and could be.In a few short weeks, the Olympic Games will land in Paris. World's best athletes will compete for the highest honour. Of course, we will celebrate the winners, the medalists - and don't get me wrong: their achievements should be celebrated. They deserve it. The motto "Citius, altius, fortius" says enough: faster, higher, stronger. But there's more to the Olympic games. Baron De Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympics, famously said: "The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well." It's not just about winning. But it's also not just about taking part. It is about being the best version of yourself you can be. I joined an internet run club this week. The starting challenge is to run 60K in 3 weeks. That's 20 kilometers per week. I'm not there, yet. I can't get that done. But that's not why I joined. I joined because I want to be fitter and want to have an extra motivation to go out and run. I joined, because I want to be better.
