# Banjeren

We talk pirates, collectibles, some history and food, of course, as we roam the city behind the dunes.Aimlessly wandering around a city. On foot. That is what the Dutch word banjeren, the title of this post, means. It doesn't have to be in city, but when I found this poem it was in the city. My home town The Hague. We wandered through streets bearing the name of captains of centuries ago. Captains who had won battles on the worlds ocean's. But these captains, our 'heroes', were pirates to the other sea-faring nations of the time. And, of course, the other way around. Then we had delicious artisanal ice cream, walked passed historic buidling, visited some lovely shops and ended with a delicious Flammkuche. A German treat, but as we have lived in Germany, that was a nice bit of personal history. And somewhere along that route, I found this poem.
