For once a long day the trees withered against a dawn spring day and the calm waters of the flowing tide lay beating.

Down by the bay. Alice the main traitor sits among the tulip flowers that grew in the late winter when the snow had rot. She cast a stone into the shore to see if there was karma still breaking. The stone didn't return.

Finch her judge asked her a question about her hair.

"Does it have soul?"

"Like fire."

Finch then asked her if she would like to swim. Her hair would get cool. Like catching the flowing tide lay beating.
