In January 2022, a cardiac patient went to the hospital with sharp pain on her right side. They told her she was having a heart attack. But as she was being processed, a notification popped up on her phone. She opened it and read her own CT scan: Three different masses. Breast, armpit, and collarbone.Stage 3C Triple Negative Breast Cancer. The woman the world knows as "Big Momma" was devastated, but she didn’t stay down. She turned her pain into a mission to educate others, becoming an Angel Advocate and volunteering her time to help women find the resources she once struggled to find.Our beautiful warrior: Anetra BeyBut even a pillar needs a foundation to rest on.Three years into remission, the weight is heavy. Between lymphedema, PTSD, and functional neurological disorders, Big Momma’s body was screaming for a break. She is the anchor for her three kids and her two grandkids—a newborn and a "sassy" 4-year-old. Between car troubles, a rebellious teen, and physical therapy twice a week, she was exhausted."I’m tired," she told us. "My body is tired. I need my blood pressure to be down. lol"The ResetWe are happy to share that her need was funded. She needs a staycation involving FLOAT therapy, sound bowls, and somatic breathing—tools to calm her mind and body so she can continue to be the force her family and this community rely on.We believe that supporting one warrior means supporting hundreds.
