Welcome! If you’re reading this, (hopefully) it means you connected your MetaMask wallet and successfully subscribed to our blog: Nieux Thoughts. We plan to use this blog as a forum to document what we’ve done and where we’re going. Without further ado, let’s get to it: On 5/04/22, the Nieux Society officially launched an effort to inspire a new golden age of creativity in New Orleans. Built up of a community of entrepreneurs, artists, creators, and lovers of New Orleans, we are committed to exploring the promise of Web3 to inspire New Orleans’ creative culture to realize its full potential.NFT #504 from the 504 Founder Collection.To position New Orleans at the forefront of this new frontier, we developed a roadmap outlining the necessary steps: https://twitter.com/NieuxSociety/status/1551190904785993728?s=20&t=c7sTte4e9hRLToaGAOsIBA We kicked off our efforts by hosting a Web3 Teen Camp Gallery Showcase, the culmination of a 3-day camp designed to educate New Orleans youth about Web3 technology and give them the skills to succeed in the future.Web3 Teen Camp Gallery Showcase at the NieuxHouse (Wednesday, July 20th).From July 18–20, Demario Davis (New Orleans Saints) and Farrah Ross Appleman (Director of Marketing at Gilded) taught New Orleans young people the fundamentals of Web3, NFTs, and cryptocurrency during Youth Empowerment Project’s (YEP) teen summer camp. During the workshop, the students designed and minted their own NFTs, which culminated in a gallery showcase and NFT collection drop for founding Nieux Society members. Nieux Society members showed up ready to support the new creators and sold out the collection in less than two hours!504 Founder Lindsey Roussel displays her newly purchased NFT with the young artist.Sneaker collection at the gallery showcase.Although the collection sold out, there are still opportunities to purchase NFTs on the secondary market. All current NFT holders have committed to selling their assets in order to continue the youth’s education around the mechanics of Web3 while also growing their assets.NFTs available for purchase on the secondary market.Looking ahead, here’s what’s next for us:Finish designing the campusLaunch community treasury and invest in 1 new projectLaunch education seriesHost at least one event that connects 504 FoundersLaunch Nieux Bienville NFT projectCome up with things we have yet to think of!As we continue to work through this roadmap, we will post detailed updates here on our blog.
