we met before,  
petey understood my design behind the fumes,  
i was acquainted with the reason for his quivering beak.  
we shared a space under the rain,  
as we had shared an alliance under the moon.  
seen in our true forms,  
unafraid of the drops,  
the dawn told our story.  
“_come to me, i’m offering shelter_”  
perhaps we shouldn’t mix.  
wings spread and set ablaze,  
no goodbyes as he journeyed away.  
we will meet again.
