**OnchainEntity** is one of the most complex and mathematically perfect art collections. Each element's dimensions, positioning, and colour were determined using the golden ratio, with depth achieved through transparency and shadows adjusted to spectral values, reflecting the unique, abstract essence of each onchain entity.

I conceived this collection as a metamorphosis of geometric techniques in traditional art, combined with the mathematical exactitude of digital art. The translation of technical precision into visual accessibility best describes this collection.

**Canvas**

More than three years ago, when I started working on this collection, I envisioned it as something purely abstract, a complete abstractionism defined by the golden ratio on a simple canvas. However, about a year ago, while reading _Commedia dell'Arte_, I was struck by the idea that masks once served as instruments of freedom and social equality. This concept resonates strongly in today’s world, where people, both online and onchain, often present themselves differently to conform to social ideals. This idea convinced me that the canvas for _OnchainEntity_ would be a mask.**Complications: Geometry**

The composition is created exclusively from rectangles. The positioning of the first rectangle is determined by the geometry of the square canvas, applying a golden ratio alteration to establish its proportions and initial location. Each subsequent rectangle is placed based on the positions of two existing rectangles, maintaining a consistent use of the golden ratio to achieve geometric harmony. Each composition consists of 1600 to 1618 elements, each perfectly abstracted.

**Complications: Colours**

Using the canvas colour as a starting point in RGB, I applied the golden ratio to each RGB channel by iterative multiplication, subtracting the decimal part. This process, applied to each successive element, created a complex and balanced palette with subtle, coherent variations. There is no standard method for applying the golden ratio to colour, and I have found no established practice or theory for this approach. I experimented with several variations, and this model proved to be the closest to what I wanted to see as the final result.

**Complications: Shadows**

For each element, the shade layer’s intensity is adjusted according to the annual variations in solar radiation, from values around 1100 W/m² at the summer solstice to 500 W/m² at the winter solstice. At the equinoxes, when radiation reaches approximately 800 W/m², the shadow has an intermediate opacity, reflecting the balance between day and night. This effect establishes a subtle link between art and science, that suggests passage of time, an effect achievable only in digital art, which also defines the composition's character, metaphorical as it may sound.

This is how _OnchainEntity_ was created, and it could not have been otherwise.
