It’s been an exciting week for us onchain gamers. Primodium v0.10 continued to grow, hitting over 1000 players. CCP (The studio behind Eve Online) announced that they’ll be building their game )Project Awakening) using MUD. MOCS launched on testnet, EIP-4844 went live, while Arbitrum and Starknet are preparing to deploy hundreds of millions to fund games in their ecosystems. As you can see, the onchain gaming ecosystem is continuing to pick up steam. Every news item below is important, but the most significant in my eyes is the release of Dencun and EIP-4844. The upgrade reduces gas costs on L2s by an order of magnitude, meaning that our onchain gaming transactions just got a lot cheaper. I can’t wait to save some money on gas, and see what new types of games this cheaper blockspace enables. Now without further ado, here’s:A primer on the week’s newsMy picks for three games to play over the weekendA list of upcoming playtests, opportunities, and eventsA recap of WASD content & mintsSome of the other best content from frens in the ecosystemAnd of course… …The S-tier meme of the week!!!🗞️ The TLDR:The hottest news from the last week in onchain gaming and autonomous worlds.Primodium v0.10 hits over 1000 playersEve Online’s CCP announce they’re building Project Awakening in MUDMOCS launches on Redstone testnetAlphaOmega wins “The Most Lordly Force Prime Hero” tournamentLattice announces that Sky Strife Season 0.3 will be the final playtest before mainnet[WE] and 1kx release the first ever Sky Strife community analytics leaderboardProof Of Play enables gas-free listings and delistings from their marketplaceArbitrum DAO proposes launching the “Gaming Catalyst Program” and to use 200M ARB (~$400 million) to support gaming projectsStarknet announces its “Gaming Committee” with plans to allocate 50M STRK (~$100 million) to fund games building in its ecosystemEthereum’s Dencun goes live, massively reducing gas costs on L2s🎮 Plays of the Week:Three onchain games to try out for yourself this weekend.PrimodiumMOCSTarochi⚔️ PTO: Playtests, Tournaments, & Opportunities:Upcoming events from around the onchain gaming ecosystem.Playtest: Project Awakening: Phase IIIPlaytest: Sky Strife Season 0.3 (March 19)Playtest: Duper (Date TBD)Event: Autonomous Worlds Summit (IRL in Lisbon from April 16-18)🤝 Words From Frens:The best content from frens in the community.Watch: Force Prime Beginners Guide - FunBlocksRead: Starknet Is Allocating $120M to Gaming - ApixRead: Realms Playtest Season (Thread) - Composable Hub🤣 The S-Tier Meme of the Week:https://x.com/WASD_0x/status/1767245188467216606?s=20 Credit: 0xShrimple🤝 Thank you to our sponsor: Fire Eyes 🔥_🔥Fire Eyes is a leading organization for onchain governance.
