# The WASD Weekly: 3/22/24

Author: FaultProofBen Gm, and welcome to The WASD Weekly! This week in onchain gaming was defined by new releases. We had six games launch or ship a major new update, including Strategems, Soccerverse, PAVED, Force Prime Heroes, Mugencraft, and Sky Strife. So far, I’ve had the chance to play the latter two and enjoyed them both. As you all know, I’m a big Sky Strife fan. Unsurprisingly, I’ve had a lot of fun with the new update, which brings back the two new units introduced at the end of Season 0.1, counters, and new features like plugins. Plugins are extensions built on top of Sky Strife that can enhance gameplay or provide additional insights into a match. For instance, there are plugins that let you automatically launch certain attacks, as well as see enemy gold totals. Plugins are very cool and a demonstration of a unique selling point of onchain games: Composability. In a similar vein, Mugencraft is a UGC recipe-making game developed by Baratie. In it, you can combine different emojis to create recipes, mint them as NFTs, and earn points when other players use them. The game is simple but enables a lot of creativity, with a lot of funny ones being cooked (pun intended) up. I made one myself called “Roadkill 💀” which is a combination of the “Mountain Railway 🚞” and “Chicken 🐔” emojis. (I suppose I have a dark sense of humor). Between Sky Strife, Mugencraft and Primodium, I’m having a ton of fun onchain gaming these days. Given the recent flurry of new launches, I’d expect the good times to keep rolling.
